UVC rays don’t penetrate to any real depth, and UVC irradiation is purely a surface technology. Outside of water, air, and a very few special materials, UVC rays don’t penetrate anything at all – not even windowpanes! It is therefore possible to protect yourself with normal clothing, or with a good sunscreen with a high protection factor.
