Is there any protection against UVC rays?

UVC radiation is purely a surface technique and is therefore incapable of penetrating materials to a deeper level. The radiation generally can only penetrate water, air and a few special materials such as quartz glass. Sufficient protection is provided by clothing, suntan cream with high light protection factor or normal window glass. In case of open radiation protective glasses or sunglasses should be worn. 

Generally speaking, direct exposure to intensive UV rays should be avoided.
